We Need Your Help

Our Staff keeps shrinking, while the submissions keep piling up.

​With almost one hundred stories currently in our reading queue, we need help sorting the slush.

That's where YOU come in.

What is involved?

 As Story Screener/Assistant Editor your job will be to read new submissions and place them into 3 categories based on your familiarity with the types of stories we want to publish -- Yes, No, or Maybe. Additionally, helping find appropriate artwork to accompany published pieces may be required, or composing emails for our subscriber list. Unfortunately, this is not a paid position, but you will earn valuable experience and resume fodder.

What experience is required?

No previous experience is required except for a love of short stories. Intrinsick is searching for stories that fulfill our particular aesthetic of funny, unusual, quirky, and murky. As we like to say, we want to see the sunny side and the dark side at the same time. Both sides. All sides. There are so many sides to every story.

What sort of time commitment is required?

The time commitment will be approximately 1-2 hours per week, depending on your reading speed and time available. We average between 10 - 15 new submissions per week, and would like to get our response time down to less than one month. Currently we are taking about 2 months to reply, and have missed out on some very nice stories that were published elsewhere first.
