I have taken a less than direct path to the career of Science Teacher. But, just how did it happen, exactly?

 

 

Upbringing and Education

     • Born 1970, Kaiser Hospital, Walnut Creek

     • Attended Walnut Heights Elementary
        Walnut Creek Intermediate
        Las Lomas High School (class of '88)

     • Graduated U.C.Santa Cruz, 1993
        B.A. Psychobiology, minor Anthropology

 

Science Background

     •  While an undergrad I performed independent field research
         involving the Elephant Seal Colonies at Año Nuevo State
         Reserve.

     •  After graduating I worked as a part time research assistant
         on a 4 yr dissertation. The dissertation involved
         intraspecific competetion between two local lizard species,
         the western fence lizard and the side-blotched lizard.

     •  Endangered species surveys in Santa Cruz and San Mateo
         counties; the San Francisco garter snake and the
         California red-legged frog

     •  Graphics Associate for Santa Cruz Biotechnology.
         Package Design, technical writing, catalog production.

 

Teaching Background

     •  Education Outreach for the Surfrider Foundation,
         Monterey Bay Chapter - the importance of clean water

     •  San Ramon Valley Skate Camp
         Danville, CA - teaching kids to shred safely

     •  Multiple Subject Credential, Cal State East Bay
         December, 2004

         and many, many others.
